VISADOS/VISAS:

Según el propósito de su visita a Jamaica deberá solicitar un tipo de Visa concreto.

Todos los Visados tiene un coste de tramitación de 55 €.

VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR JAMAICANS TRAVELLING

Para aplicar a cualquier tipo de Visa es necesario rellenar la siguiente aplicación:

El tiempo  aproximado para la realización del  trámite es de 8 días laborables a partir del momento en el que toda la documentación necesaria esté en el Consulado. Este tiempo aproximado puede variar.

According to the purpose of your visit to Jamaica you must request for a particular type of Visa.

All Visa application have a cost of 55 €.

To apply for any type of Visa is necessary to fill the following application:

  • VISADO DE TURISMO/TOURIST VISA


En caso de que su estancia en Jamaica sea de un tiempo menor a 90 días, y  si su nacionalidad es española, no necesita Visado.Si pretende visitar el país más de 90 días el procedimiento sería el siguiente. Primero deberá aplicar al Visado de Turismo y una vez en Jamaica dirigirse a la Agencia de Inmigración (Passport Immigration and Citizenship Agency, PICA) y pedir una extensión de su estancia.

If your stay in Jamaica is a time less than 90 days,  and if your nationality is spanish,  you dont need a Visa.

 If you intend to visit the country more than 90 days the procedure is as follows. You must apply for       the tourist Visa and once in Jamaica go to the Inmigration Agency ( Passport Inmigration and Cityzenship Agency, PICA ) and request an extension of you stay.

Documentación para aplicar a un Visado de Turismo:

– Pasaporte en vigor más de 6 meses desde que se presente la documentación.

– Copia del pasaporte a color.

– 2 fotografías tamaño carnet.

– Aplicación rellenada a ordenador (preferiblemente) y firmada a mano.

– Prueba de que puede mantenerse económicamente (a través de un saldo de su cuenta bancaria, legalizada en Asuntos Consulares previamente, Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores).

– Passport in force more than 6 months since the documentation is submitted.

– Copy in color of your passport

– 2 passport size pictures

– Application form filled by computer and signed by hand.

– Document that proves that you can support yourself (balance of a bank account legalized by Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreings Affairs)

  •  VISADO DE TRABAJO/WORK VISA

Documentación para aplicar a un Visado de Trabajo:

– Pasaporte en vigor más de 6 meses desde que se presente la documentación para el visado.

– Copia del pasaporte/dni.

– 2 fotografías de tamaño carnet.

– Itinerario de viaje.

– Contrato de trabajo.

– Aplicación rellenada a ordenador (preferiblemente) y firmada a mano.

– Carta de la empresa donde indica que se hará cargo económicamente de los trabajadores, especificando lugar exacto de residencia.

– Permiso de trabajo expedido por el Ministry of Labour and Social Security.

– Pago de 55 euros/coste del trámite.

Documentation to apply for a Working Visa:

-Passport in force more than 6 months since the documentation is submitted.

-copy in color of you passport

-2 passport size pictures

-work contract.

-Application form filled by computer and signed by hand.

-Letter issued by the company where they specify that they will take care economically of the aplicant /worker. This letter has to specify also where this person will live during his/her stay in Jamaica.

-Work permit issued by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security (Jamaica).

-Paid 55 Euros/processing cost.

  • VISADO DE ESTUDIANTE/STUDENT VISA

Documentación para aplicar a un Visado de Estudiante:

– Pasaporte en vigor más de 6 meses desde que se presente la documentación para el visado.

– Copia del pasaporte/dni.

– 2 fotografías de tamaño carnet.

– Itinerario de viaje.

– Aplicación rellenada a ordenador (preferiblemente) y firmada a mano.

– Carta de aceptación de la Escuela o Institución donde va a estudiar.

– Prueba de que puede mantenerse económicamente (a través de un saldo de su cuenta bancaria, legalizada en Asuntos Consulares previamente, Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores).

– Document that proves that you can support yourself (balance of a bank account legalized by Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreings Affairs).

– Return or round trip ticket.

VISADO DIPLOMÁTICO

Documentación para aplicar a un Visado de Diplomático:

1.- NOTA VERBAL DE LA EMBAJADA solicitando el Visado Diplomático.

2.- Copia billetes avión.

3.- Aplicación rellena (Se puede descargar en el apartado VISADOS)

4.- Copia A COLOR del pasaporte.

5.- Copia A COLOR del Carnet Diplomático.

6.- 2 Fotografías A COLOR tamaño carnet.

DIPLOMATIC VISA
Documentation to apply for a Diplomatic Visa:

1.- VERBAL NOTE FROM THE EMBASSY’S OFFICE requesting the Diplomatic Visa.

2.- Copy of airline tickets.

3.- Completed application form (You can download it in the section VISAS).

4.- COLOUR COPY OF PASSPORT.

5.- COLOUR COPY of the Diplomatic Card.

6.- 2 COLOUR passport-size photographs.

 LEGALIZACIONES/LEGALIZATIONS:

Las legalizaciones tienen un coste de 30 € por documento firmado. En muchos casos el documento debe ser legalizado previamente por el Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores.

Legalizations have a cost of € 30 per document signed. In many cases, the document must first be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

  • APLICACIÓN PARA RENOVACIÓN DE PASAPORTE/APPLICATION FOR REPLACEMENT OF LOST OR STOLEN PASSPORT:

La renovación del pasaporte se tramita en la Agencia de Inmigración en Jamaica. Este es un trámite únicamente para ciudadanos Jamaiquinos. Por ello, la siguiente información está solo en inglés.

Jamaican Passports are the property of the Government of Jamaica. The loss of a passport must therefore be reported immediately to the police station nearest to the place where the loss or theft occurred or nearest to your place of residence.

All applications for passports, including lost or stolen passports, are processed at the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) in Kingston, Jamaica.

DOCUMENTATION

Passport Application Forms may be downloaded and printed from this website. Please read the instructions carefully before completing the Form. The completed Application Form should be submitted to this Embassy of Jamaica in Brussels along with the following documents for onward transmission to PICA for processing:

  • Police Report of loss/theft of passport
  • Details of Lost Passport (e.g. number, date of issue etc) if available]
  • The applicant’s Birth Certificate (a photocopy will not be accepted) – with an official English translation if the document was issued in another language
  • Certified copy of nationality /citizenship document, if applicable
  • The applicant’s Marriage Certificate if you are or have been married – with an official English translation if the document was issued in another language
  • Three (3) identical Colour Photographs taken within the last six months, one of which should be signed by a Notary Public or Consular Officer*who should also sign Section G of the application form (digital or instant photographs on flimsy paper will not be accepted)
  • Divorce Decree (where applicable)
  • For Minors – please also submit a copy of the first five pages of the passport of the parent/guardian who signs at sections D & E of the Application Form
  • A certified copy of one (1) of the following valid documents:
  • Jamaican National Voter’s ID
  • Jamaican Driver’s Licence
  • Certificate of Residence (resident card ) from country of residence
  • Driver’s licence from country of residence
  • Work Permit (bearing a photograph) from the country of residence

N.B. All documents that were not issued in English must be translated by a certified translator and legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the applicant’s country of residence.

*Certification of the Passport Application Form and photograph can be done at the nearest Jamaican Embassy or Consular Post

PAYMENT OF FEES

The Applicant is required to submit the following payments to this Embassy:

  • Lost Passport Fee: To be paid by Bank Draft made payable to Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency, Jamaica in the amount of One Hundred Pounds Sterling (£100.00) for an Adult or Fifty Pounds Sterling (£50.00) for a Minor o Consular Fee and Postage: Twenty Euros (€20.00) cash, to be paid by bank transfer directly to the bank account of the Embassy of Jamaica – Brussels. Please ensure that the name of the Passport Applicant is cited in the communication to the bank. It is also important to note that transfer charges to the above bank account must be borne by the payee.

Other useful information

1.Adults must ensure that their signature is affixed in the box located at the top of page 2. The signature should be in the middle of the box and in a horizontal line and should not touch the lines of the box)

2. Adults must ensure that Section E, “Declaration of Applicant” is also signed (signature should be identical to one in the box at page 2). Parent/Guardian should sign this section for Minors.

3. Please ensure that Section G is completed, i.e. the details of two (2) Emergency Contacts must be affixed.

4. Photographs are to be taken against a plain light-coloured background (preferably off-white).

In addition, please pay special attention to the following requirements for the photographs:

  1. photos should not be more than six months old;
  1. 35-45 mm in width;
  1. the Applicant’s face should cover 70-80 % of the photograph and the applicant’s ears and forehead should be fully visible
  1. skin tones should be natural;
  1. photos should have appropriate brightness and contrast;
  1. photos should be printed on high quality paper at high resolution;
  1. where digital camera is used the photograph should be high quality colour and printed on photo quality paper;
  1. if the Applicant wears eyeglasses, please ensure that the frame does not cover or cut off any part of the eye/s. If the glasses frames are big or thick, it is advisable to remove the glasses prior to taking the photo.
  1. the Applicant’s eyes should be open and clearly visible;
  1. photos should be taken in uniform lighting and should not have shadows or flash reflections;
  1. Red eye photos are not accepted;
  1. No stamps or seal should be used on the photograph. Only one photograph should bear

the following inscription of a Notary Public or Consular Officer on the back: “I certify that

this is a true photograph of the applicant —————————–“.

  1. Processing time: minimum of Twelve (12) weeks. Applicants are advised not to make travel arrangement while the passport is being processed.
